MR Imaging
CTI Magnetic Resonance Imaging or MRI is the only IN-House and ACR Accredited MRI in Erath County.
We are excited to offer this technology to our patients, available 5 days a week.
MRI scanners produce highly detailed images of your body using a very strong magnet. MRI images can aid your physician in making a rapid, accurate diagnosis.
What to expect during your MRI:
During the exam, you will hear loud repeated knocking. Headphones that are provided will allow you to listen to your choice of music and diminish the exam noise. The exam time will vary from about 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the structure being evaluated. Your evaluation may include the use of contrast material, either within a vein or within a joint.
Our technologist will monitor and support you throughout the exam. A live feed to the tech will be on during your scan and the tech can reply and provide updates via the headphones.
Because of the strong magnetic field required for MRI, certain devices exclude patients from being able to have the exam. We will ask several times about the presence of:
- Pacemaker
- Brain Aneurysm clips
- Inner ear implant
- Metal fragments in your eyes
- Shrapnel in your body
- Implanted spinal cord stimulator or drug infusion device/patch
- Some other implanted device
Some of these devices are unsafe in a strong magnetic environment. If you have any of these items listed in or on your person or if you have any further questions, please ask the technologist prior to beginning your exam.
